If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen my posts about my new red front door using Front Door Paint by Modern Masters. I'm loving the little facelift it gave my front entry!
Originally, my door was black. When given the opportunity to try out the front door paint, I almost went with Elegant, Modern Master's version of black. My door was in serious need of a touch-up and I didn't mind the black. However, one look at the 24 colors in their Emotional Color Wheel, this color-loving girl couldn't resist a change! I chose Passionate, a deep, rich red hue and I'm so glad I did.
If it hadn't been for their free iPhone app (also available for Android), I might have chosen Calm or Spontaneous. It seemed like a blue or purple shade would contrast well with my orangey bricks. The app told a different story and, surprisingly, Passionate looked best. SO glad I played around with the app and avoided a color mishap!
This shade of red is classic and pretty. Plus, it covered over my black door in only 2 coats and dried super quickly. I'm excited to know that it won't fade, so I won't be doing this again any time soon (and if I do, I'm choosing a nice, Spring day. July in Texas is hot!).
While we're on the topic, here are a few more shots of some of my other favorite porch areas. Red and turquoise seem to be a theme, huh?? ;)
If you're ever in the Dallas area, come on over and have some ice tea with my on the porch!
Front Door Paint is available at selected Lowe's and Ace Hardwares as well as online via Amazon or the Modern Masters online shop. If you live near me, in the Dallas area, the Lowe's in Allen carries it.
