My sweet baby girl had a fun party on Saturday! She officially turns one on Tuesday (sniff, sniff) but Saturday she celebrated herself silly.
We're talking cake on her face, skipping some naps, playing hard as she can, silly.
And, then she slept. For 14 glorious hours. And, I slept too.
A little birdie told me you'd like to see our "tweet" party mantel. Why don't you fly on over to our nest and...
Yes, I can go on and on like that (really. I can.), but, I'll spare you my word play and get to the details.
Like I mentioned on Friday when I gave a tutorial for our inexpensive invitations, the party was done in a bird theme. Hence, the large bird. And, small birds. And, birds' nests. And, birdcage. And, bird accents. And, bird picture frame. And, bird scrapbook paper.
Yes, we stuck to our theme.
That's exactly what I did to make my birdcage a bit higher and better scaled next to my very large, wooden bird.
The letters from this bunting were made for me by a sweet friend before Merritt was born. I attached them to pink pennants and strung that up with matching ribbon.
Recurring themes at the party (besides all things bird) were: Pictures of Merritt (lots and lots of pictures), the number 1 and the letter M. And, the colors were: Tangerine, Pink & Aqua (and, also a bit of brown and green because, hard as I try, I can't stick to just three colors).
This ruffled 1 is probably two feet tall and helps to keep the mantel scaled, despite the very large bird.
And, that, dear friends, is our First Birthday Party Mantelscape! And, I can't wait to show you more details from the party. Here's a clue: there will be more birds (lots and lots of birds).
But, before I go, I'll leave you with this:
Update: The full party details can be found here!!
