What's Black & White & Red Allover?

Do you remember that riddle from childhood? What's black & white & red allover? It's stuck in my head, but I can't remember the punchline. Bonus points** to whomever can tell me.

**bonus points not redeemable for cash, prizes, bragging rights...or anything even remotely cool.

Welcome to Mantel Monday! This mantel is black & white & red (all over), hence the riddle stuck in my head. Yesterday after church, I came home and pondered my mantel for a spell. And, felt a sense of deja-vu. Didn't I just mantelfy my mantel for Valentine's Day? Like, last week?? Then I remembered. I remembered that pesky little challenge I gave myself for 52 Mantelscapes. In 52 weeks.

Oh for the love of mantels.

Can we be real for a minute? I SO was not in the mood to mantelfy yesterday. I kinda, sorta just wanted to work on other projects I have on deck.

Or sit. Yes, what I really wanted to do was sit.

But, I didn't sit. I gathered some black and white and red (all over) stuff from around my house and got to manteling. And, this is what I came up with.

You know my black & white wreath that's been refashioned from Halloween to Winter? Well, it's been refashioned again. I removed the winter accents and replaced them with this simple paper bunting. Three triangles and a red heart, laced onto a red ribbon. And, then a polka dotted heart stuck on top of the red heart.

With tape.

Fancy, I know.

I added a melamine plate from Target, which I embellished with scrap-vinyl hearts.

Fancy. I know.

Then? Then I grabbed two candlesticks and two black & white Liberty of London canisters and introduced them to each other. They're getting along just fine.

I added my Love Abides Here printable to the mix and called it good.

Hello, good.

A NEWSPAPER!! What's black & white & READ allover? A Newspaper.

Whew. Glad we cleared that up.

Bonus points retracted.

Wanna see more Valentine mantels?

(It's okay. I do too).

These pretties were linked up to last week's link party, Thursdays are YOUR Days.

Kristin at Homespun With Love linked up this LOVE-ly black, white & red mantel. Ummm...are you seeing my color inspiration here??  I am in super-like with the cute bunting! And, you know how I love free printables

Oh, and there is a very good chance I'll try to recreate this CUTE envelope bunting for a future mantel. Hello?! How cute is that idea? The lovely sisters at My Sister's Suitcase linked this up and you really need to go check it out! They have several tutorials to share from this mantel and they are good ones!

How lovely is this mantel from Cherished Bliss?? I adore this creamy white and pink combo (with splashes of red!). Plus, I love how she incorporated her lil' punkins on the mantel in the form of pictures! Sweet babies!

Girls, if you want a featured button, they are in the tab behind my picture.

Oh goodness, we've just barely made it through another Mantel Monday. That brings us up to 20.

But, who's counting??

(ummm. ME. I'm definitely counting).

  13. Love the scrapbook paper in the apocrathy jars. Much lighter on the calories than candy, LOL! I love the Love Abides Here. Was going to do this myself, but my printer doesn't want to print right now, so I did a button heart instead, LOL!
