Accessorizin' Made Simple

My sweet baby girl is three, itty-bitty, tiny weeks away from her FIRST birthday. Can you believe it?? Neither can I, friends. Neither can I. Oh, where does the time go??

Yes??

Oh, sorry. This post isn't about my punkin turning one. Not at all. Let me try to smoothly segue to the topic at hand...

Speaking of my daughter, take a look at THIS project:

(how was that?)

Remember when I made the scrappy felt and flannel hairclip for her last month? Well, this is the same technique, just a variation. See how versatile these clips are?

I made two Valentine-y hairclips because we like our options around here. Plus, they take mere minutes to make.

For my flower clip, I cut out three circles in varying sizes and two leaf shapes. Then I stacked and stitched them together with a contrasting color of embroidery thread. Easy-peasy. I then attached the hairclip with a thinner thread.

Hobby Lobby has several hairclip options to cover whatever clip works best for your little miss.

For the second clip, I cut out two heart shapes (I just freehanded these, no need to go gettin' all precise!). Then I stacked the hearts and stitched a chain down the length of the smaller heart in my contrasting embroidery thread. I attached the hairclip and that was that.

My sweet angel modeled the hairclips for me first thing this morning. She's not that terribly excited about modeling hairclips for me. But, I managed to get a few pictures before she ran away.

Wanna see some of the pictures that didn't make the cut??

Oh, it just isn't easy being so cute.

More people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I cant believe youre not more popular because you definitely have the gift.
