But, Valentine-themed mantels are fun! This is the only time of year I can use copious amounts of heart shaped decor in my house and not feel like a total cheese-ball. Valentine's Day is the perfect excuse to get all gushy and mushy, don't you agree?
I love love, do you love love? And, I love my cute "be mine" canvases. I got these 2 inch burlap wrapped canvases at Michaels last week for $0.39. Quite a score, huh? I added the vinyl letters and ended up with this easy, inexpensive mantel art.
I like how the burlap adds a natural element to all the white and red.
I had to add some chalkboard signage. It just seemed like the thing to do (you know I love chalkboard paint!). This silver tray is a Dollar Tree find, painted with my well-used can of chalkboard paint. I've made about 5 or 6 of these silver tray chalkboards. I just keep going back for more.
Wanna see some more LOVE-ly Valentine-themed mantels?? These ladies linked up their mantels at our ongoing Mantel Link Party. What?? You don't know about our ongoing Mantel Link Party? Well, let me tell you. I started a database for your mantel-scapes to live and inspire! It's ongoing, so feel free to link up ANY mantel from ANY season! And, when people are mantel-stumped, they can go look through all of your 'scapes and feel inspired. How cool is that??
Now, on to those featured mantels! Girls, if you like buttons, go ahead and grab a featured button from the button tab (it's up there, behind my picture) (a little to the right) (yep, there)
(I know, I shouldn't blog past midnight. I get kind of...silly).
Where were we? Oh, yes. Mantels!

Janny from Que Linda linked up this mantel re-do. Complete with the coolest STRING art EVER. Yes, folks, she wrapped and wrapped and wrapped string around nails until she was left with this beauty. Amazing, right?? |

Lindsey from Cobblestones and Ivy linked up her super cute and oh-so lovely Valentine's Day mantel. I heart it. Ha, I heart it. Get it? Heart? |

Becca from Adventures in Decorating showed us her Valentine Mantel and it's absolutely perfect. Even her accent chair got in on the action!! I love this mantel! Ha, love. Get it? Love? (Oh...nevermind) |

It looks great! I really love the little burlap "be mine"!
ReplyDeleteI am your newest follower! Love everything! I just linked my mantel too:)
ReplyDeleteI love the burlap covered squares. How cute and textural! I don't know how you do this every week. You must think about Mantels constantly!! Well done!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! The burlap looks so pretty with the reds and whites!
ReplyDeleteI like to use my Scrabble trays and letters to make messages and set them around the house. Occasions: birthdays, seasons, holidays, inspirational remarks, whatever strikes my fancy. Sometimes I put two trays together to have more room - the letters are the limit unless you have or get more than one set. My set is a special edition so I have burgundy letter squares. My Valentine words for now are: Cupid, Be Mine, Candy Hearts. I'll probably change them a time or two before Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute mantel! Love the red & white colors along with the brown of the burlap and...those burlap canvases are fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE, LOVE too. Love your mantel. It looks great!
ReplyDeleteToday's to do list- put something on the empty post Christmas mantle at the ranch. Brawn has removed the hanging picture from above it, I now have a blank slate. Donna at Funky Junk just posted her mantle this morning. So between yours and her's I anticipate something on mine by days end. Stay tuned.....

ReplyDeleteHi Emily,
ReplyDeleteJust discovered 52 mantels and I must say I am INSPIRED. Maybe one day, when we get rid of our red accent wall, I may link up to one of your mantel parties. For now, I'm not liking our mantel. I'd love to paint it white but you know how some men are, they like wood, wood, wood. I've added you to my blogging bliss links on my page because I'll just have to come over here each week for inspiration. I do love mantels because it's an opportunity to be creative for each and every season. It's also an opportunity to change things up just because we may feel like it. My mantel is a challenge because it's a corner mantel.
Your daughter is darling! I'll be back to check out what your next creative endeavor is!
~Sandy
