DIY Colorblock Jewelry {Using Scotch Colors and Patterns Duct Tape!}

If you love colorblock jewelry, if you love DIY projects, today's your lucky day. This tutorial for a Colorblock Necklace and Earring set using Scotch Colors and Patterns Duct Tape, is so easy and inexpensive...you'll definitely want to add it to your to-do list! Don't you love the fun colors of these tapes? 

To get started with the necklace, you'll need: 

• Scotch Colors and Patterns Duct Tape (in desired colors)
• a blank jewelry bezel (found in the jewelry section of your local craft shop)
• an exacto knife
• necklace chain
• one jump ring
• needlenose pliers 

1) Place your unadorned bezel on a chain with a jump ring (Need a tutorial for that? Here's one!)

2) Lay your bezel face up and cover it with a strip of tape

3) Use your fingernail to push the tape into the edges of the bezel

4) Trim the excess tape with an exacto knife

5) Remove the excess tape

6) Place a coordinating strip of tape diagonally across the bottom of your bezel and repeat steps 3-5

Seriously? These two necklaces took under 15 minutes to make. The beauty? I can change out the tape whenever I tire of these designs. The bezels and chains are a couple bucks each and one roll of tape could make (roughly) a hundred necklaces (totally a guess on my part). Bottom line? This is a GREAT inexpensive gift idea!

Want to make matching earrings? I thought you might! For those, you'll need: 

• Scotch Colors and Patterns Duct Tape (in desired colors)
• scissors
• 1" circle stamping blanks (found in the jewelry section of your craft store- near the metal stamping supplies)
• earring wires
• straight pin

1) Cover one side of a blank stamping disk with tape and trim excess with scissors. Add contrasting tape, diagonally, and trim excess.

2) Use a straight pin to poke through the existing hole and place your disk on an earring wire
3) Wear proudly!

These earrings are even LESS expensive than the necklaces! Wouldn't it be fun to gift someone with an entire collection of earrings to coordinate every outfit change? I think so!
