A "Tweener" Mantel

When you read that this was a tweener mantel, did you expect to see Bieber on display? Well, I'm sorry to disappoint. No Bieber here. Just a mantel for between seasons. Because, Summer is as good as gone, but it's still 100 degrees outside....so, Fall seems oh-so far away. See what I mean by between seasons?

I don't really know what to say about this mantel, except that I like it. It's simple, asymmetrical and, textural.

And, it took me 5 minutes to put together.

In the frame is a pretty embroidered piece of fabric the hubs brought me back from a trip to India. Then, we've got succulents from Ikea (who knew, right?). A shedded antler and books (of course there's books) rounds it all out.  Simple, right?

What do you think? Too simple? Just right? Needs more Bieber?

  8. I realize it is getting very close to taking down my Spring mantel. So do I do a Fall and then weeks later a Halloween? Do tell the proper steps to take for the mantelly challenged.

  9. Perfect. I usually do a "tweener", too -- just can't quite embrace pumpkins and harvest yet!
