Those little scrunchy faced kiddos are my pride and joy! Ryley [on the left] is my little princess. She's two and half and her favorite words are 'No!' and 'Mine!' Avery [right] is such a boy. He's rough and tough and loves to push momma's buttons. [What man doesn't?!]
I could talk about those two all day long. But today Im here to share my first mantle-scape with y'all! We recently moved into our first home and I was really excited about the mantel. Emily and I have been bloggy friends for some time now and I love all her mantels.. and I was kinda jealous. In a good way though! I just wanted my own mantel to scape. [I even asked the hubby to build me a faux mantel in our tiny two bedroom townhouse.. it didn't happen.]
My first mantel is all things nautical. I am obsessed [putting it mildly] with anchors and all things beachy so it was a shoe-in for my mantel.
I have to confess that I was overwhelmed by the size of the mantel though. It has a top ledge and a bottom ledge and it's just huge. On top I painted bamboo plates and then attached sand dollars from our wedding to them. [See more of my wedding decorations here.] I also put a cluster of bubbles that we used as we were exited the church. Just because.
The clock was a wedding present from my in-laws best friends and I love it. Sand dollars are one of my favorite shell [yes I have favorites.. haha] and I am very lucky to have a whole collection of them. My grandma collected them when I was younger and my husbands great uncle had a bunch that were handed down to us. Ryley calls them 'white bananas'.
I
