Are you, like, so totally over pumpkins yet? I know, I know. But, I made this lil' guy several weeks ago when I was preparing to do a whole lotta Fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving mantels. A gal needs variety, after all. And, sheesh, I just love pumpkins (as evidenced by this and this). So, I'm sharing this here tutorial with you. If you can't possibly look at another pumpkin, feel free to divert your eyes.
If you're still here, let's get to it, shall we?
You'll probably remember seeing this pumpkin on a mantel not too long ago.

This project was so simple and used only supplies I had on hand. I'm sure you have similar junk supplies in your closets. I started by collecting several orange papers from my stash. I tried (being the operative word) to arrange them in order from light to dark, in an attempt (being the operative word) at an ombre effect.
I traced a simple pumpkin shape on solid orange paper. But you could probably just freehand this. You seem capable of that.
I used my 1-inch circle cutter to make about a BILLION circles in the various shades of orange. Okay, not really a billion. It was actually around 20 per color. Not too bad. I should mention that this project was a fast one.
I glued down the circles in fairly straight lines, working from dark to light (although, the picture below shows them from light to dark, but that was just a practice round).
And, that just about does it! Pretty easy. I added a twine stem and used foam tape to stick my pumpkin to burlap. Then I tacked that burlap onto a cream-colored wooden sign. But, you could also stick your pumpkin in a frame or come up with another creative way to display it!
Last week's mantel, this week tutorial. I'm feeling so nostalgic.
