Princess Christmas Ornaments {a Kid-Friendly Craft!}

My daughter loves crafting with me. And, she loves princesses. And, pink. She definitely loves pink. Basically, she's the girliest of (almost) 3-year-old girls. Do I even need to say that these (kid-friendly!) DIY, pink, princess ornaments were right of her alley?!

We made these ornaments a couple weeks ago and I shared some of the process on Instagram. Honestly, this was such a fun project to do with my sweetie! And, she loves seeing her handiwork hanging on the sweet pink Christmas tree in her bedroom.

This ornament was not my original idea, in fact, it was TOTALLY inspired by Rachel at Lines Across. Do you ever read her blog?? She's great and uses polymer clay quite a bit. When I saw the train ornament she made for her son, I knew I wanted to make some with my daughter.

You can head over to Lines Across for the full tutorial!!

A few things to note about my princess ornaments:

1) The princess cookie cutters came in a set from Wal-Mart
2) The clay is from WholePort, which I received for a product review
3) After these ornaments baked and cooled, I let my daughter paint over it with glitter decoupage from Martha Stewart Crafts. Seriously, this is one of my new favorite products! It's the perfect way to add glitter to just about anything, without the awful glitter mess!
4) After my daughter painted the glitter decoupage on, I smoothed it out and removed the excess. When she wasn't looking, of course. ;)

And, that's it! Three personalized princess ornaments for the sweetest little girl I know! I don't know if you can tell in the photos, but these have a pretty glittery finish. I love them! :)

  1. These Christmas ornaments are so cute! They remind me of the ornaments I used to make with my own mother, and I'm sure your little girl will have fond memories of this just as I do.

    1. Hi Brandy! The step-by-step instructions can be found here: http://www.linesacross.com/2013/11/stamped-cookie-cutter-clay-ornaments.html

      My only difference was the cookie cutters I picked and the color of clay.

      Hope that helps!
