Thursdays Are YOUR Days, Vol 16

Thank you all so much for your sweet emails and comments this week! We are still in Iowa and, sadly, my hubby's grandpa passed away early this morning. As you can imagine, it's been a sorrowful time for the family, but we've also had many happy moments as fun times were shared and cherished memories recollected.

Today also happens to be my wedding anniversary and one of MY cherished memories is the joy of having grandpa make the journey from Iowa to Texas to attend our special day. We didn't think he'd be able to travel the long distance, but he did and I'll always treasure that!

This week on 52 Mantels:

Today Nikki from Chef-In-Training shared my guest post for Banana Cookie Bars & Nutella Buttercream Icing
Last Friday, I shared the recipe for this yummy Grilled Stuffed Avocado dish.
Because of this week's happenings, I didn't get to do my typical feature post (I know, I'm sad too!). Instead, I'll show you the three most-viewed links from last week's party.

Stay At Home-ista revealed her complete home tour (wow. Just, wow) and shared all her paint colors!

ReMade Simple gave a fun tutorial for this framed sticks welcome sign!

Spruce Your Nest shared her Spring Porch decor!

And, before you link up, I wanted to let you know that Linda from It All Started With Paint opened a new etsy shop called Drop Cloth Designs filled with the cutest pillows EVER. And, in honor of that exciting grand opening, she's hosting a link party dedicated to all things pillow (pssst..you can even link up your own etsy shop pillows!!). Go check it out and link up! Fun times.

And, what about you?? Link up your recent projects so we can admire!
Rules/guidelines/niceties:
1) If you aren't following 52 Mantels, please do so!

  2. Emily, I'm sorry to hear about grandpa, but I'm glad there are happy memories to share with your family! Your story reminded me about my own grandmother, who passed 3 months before J was born - very bittersweet, but she also traveled to my wedding, and there are many wonderful memories of happier days. I'll be thinking about you and your family!

  4. So very sorry for your loss. I know what you and your husband are going through. I traveled home this week for my grandfather's funeral as well. A sad time but a wonderful chance to celebrate the life of a very special person. A picture I brought back with me is my grandfather dancing with me at my wedding. Aren't grandfathers wonderful! All the best to you.

"For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing." 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11

And thank you so, so much for the Etsy and link party shout out in your post! I'm a little late for the party ...

... but I've arrived with bows in my hair and bells on my toes (is that how it goes?). I was busy going through and commenting on pillow posts all week. Phew. I'm exhausted.

    :)
