52 weeks of mantels.

I just love mantels, don't you? I'm constantly tearing out magazine pages, bookmarking websites and making mental notes of fabulous mantels. I guess all of this...collecting, has inspired me to change things up on my own mantel. With frequency. For an entire year.

And, why not invite you along for the journey? I'm going to be blogging about mantels for the next 52 weeks. I'll show you my mantel revamps. I'll show you my friends' mantels. I'll show you random mantels I find while out and about. And, maybe you'll even show me yours.

Now, let me note that I will definitely be highlighting my frequent mantel revamps. But, let's be honest, I probably won't have the budget to do complete overhauls. In fact, my budget is pretty non-existent. So, I'll have to repurpose what I have, create new stuff and get creative with how I put it all together. I'll go ahead and tell you that you're going to be seeing many of the same ol' items on repeat in the coming 52 weeks. But, my challenge will be to create a new look using the same stuff.I'll focus on mantels once a week, for an entire year.

And, if you're already bored with mantels, don't worry, I'll be talking about other stuff too. I'll share tutorials and craft projects. I'll talk about my baby girl (probably more than I'll talk about mantels, to be honest again). And, I may even post a recipe or two. Basically, I'll be talking about my life and listening to you talk about yours. Are you with me?!

Okay, then, let's get started!

  2. I so need your blog! My mantle is a sorry place. The only time it looks good is at Christmas. With all the decorations now put away the big natural stone fireplace looks sad, there is nothing on the railroad tie mantle, and the dated picture hanging above is begging to be replaced. I am a new blogger and for my first post featured bits of the rocks on the fireplace. I couldn't bear to show the whole mantle..... empty. If I ever get something up there that is photo worthy then the blog world can see.

  3. Love your idea for a mantels feature for each week. You have some great examples. Please come by to see how my Christmas/Winter mantel turned out. I will be leaving like this for approximately the next month. I wish I did, but I don't have the energy to change out each week.
