Halloween Wreath

I like to hit up my local dollar store when decorating seasonally. I don't really have a "Halloween decor" budget, so I do a lot of making do with what I have. Who's with me there? That's why the dollar store is my friend when planning holiday projects.

This Halloween wreath came together for under $2 plus the supplies in my personal stash. Looks like I won't have to dip into my grocery budget this week! :)

The wreath form was $1 and the "creepy cloth" was also $1, but I only used about 1/3rd of it on the wreath. I'll use the rest on one of my Halloween mantels.

I had the black and white fabric, which I tore into 4 strips, around 3-4" by 30". I glued the strips end to end to make one lonnnnng strip.

I wanted the option of reusing the wreath form for another holiday, so I didn't want to use a ton of glue on it. In fact, I only used one glob of hot glue on the wreath to attach one end of the fabric strip. Then I wrapped and wrapped until the wreath was covered. I glued the end to fabric, not wreath.

I made the bow out of orange burlap and added an alligator clip to the bow so that it is removable. And, the creepy net is not attached at all, just wrapped around and stuck to itself. Are you seeing a trend here? My Halloween wreath will be very easy to disassemble when I want to use the form for something else.

That is positively frugal of me, I must say (dear hubs, are you reading this??).

I added the "spooky" sign using 3x3 squares of cardstock that I corner-rounded and "aged" with a brown ink pad and letters cut out from my silhouette. No silhouette?? Don't fret, you could easily send the cardstock through your home printer and then cut the paper into 3x3 squares. No biggie.

Ta-Da! A cheap, easy AND repurpose-able wreath. My kind of project, friends!

I might add this wreath to a halloween-themed mantel...

Or, maybe I'll leave it on my front door!

I'm linking up this week!!
